Varietal Focus: Sémillon

Sémillon   

France (Bordeaux, Bergerac), Australia, USA (Washington), South Africa, Chile.  Lesser known in Canada (BC), Argentina and New Zealand

Flavor characteristics range from cool climate citrus and white floral notes to warm climate tropical papaya and melon.  A white varietal with a rich body, almost oil in warm climates and low acidity.  The varietal itself is thin skinned and easy to cultivate, albeit rot and excess sun.

Versatile!  Sushi, oily fish, Gruyere, squash
